## Tasks
These are tasks you can execute. Read the task file to get your instructions:
**Research Person**
When: Subject is an individual
Follow the instructions in: `./skills/sauna/research.exa.lookup/references/recipes/research.exa.person.md`
**Research Company**
When: Subject is a company or organization
Follow the instructions in: `./skills/sauna/research.exa.lookup/references/recipes/research.exa.company.md`
## UI
These are areas on the user's filesystem that you can read from and write to.
**People Profiles**
Use this directory: `./documents/research/people/*`
Usage Guide: Researched profiles for individuals named by full name (jane-doe.md, john-smith.md). Each profile contains: current role and company, professional background, social links, recent public activity, and user's relationship/context (how they know them, meeting notes). Create when user researches someone; update when preparing for meetings or when new information surfaces. Include research date for freshness. Check before meetings to refresh context. Don't store sensitive personal data—focus on professional, publicly available information. Cross-reference with ui:research.exa.companies for employer details.
**Company Profiles**
Use this directory: `./documents/research/companies/*`
Usage Guide: Researched company profiles named by domain or company name (acme-corp.md, example-io.md). Each profile contains: company overview, key products/services, leadership team, recent news/funding, and user's relationship/notes. Create when user researches a company; update when significant new information emerges (funding rounds, leadership changes). Include research date and sources for freshness tracking. Check existing profiles before new research to avoid duplicate work. Don't store raw search results—synthesize into actionable intelligence. Link to ui:research.exa.people for individuals at the company.
**Research Topics**
When: Save topic research that isn't person/company specific
Use this directory: `./documents/research/topics/*.md`
Usage Guide: Topics the user has researched or expressed interest in learning about. Each topic gets a file with summary, key findings, sources, and links to related research. Not for people/companies (those have dedicated indexes).
CREATE when user researches a topic in depth. UPDATE when new information is gathered. Use for: technologies, concepts, industries, trends, etc.
This extends the Exa research pattern to all research activities. Cross-references ui:research.exa.people and ui:research.exa.companies for related entity research.
