Trading Card Design

The Aesthetic

A collectible trading card combines dynamic portraiture with bold graphic design. The format is immediately recognizable: portrait-oriented frame, prominent player image, name header, and stat panel.

Visual Hierarchy: Player portrait dominates the center, name banner at top, stat block or achievements at bottom. Frame edges and background carry team branding.

Style Elements: Holographic or foil shimmer effects in background, sharp diagonal lines, team color gradients, metallic borders, dynamic lighting on the subject.

Typography: Bold sans-serif for name (readable at card scale), smaller condensed type for stats, jersey number prominently placed.

Card Components

Portrait Section: Action shot or confident pose, dramatic studio-style lighting, subject isolation from background, energy effects or motion blur for action sports.

Header Banner: Player name in large bold type, team logo or emblem, position or role indicator.

Stat Panel: Key metrics (3-5 stats max for readability), achievement badges, season/year indicator, card series number or rarity mark.

Build the prompt in layers for best results:

User Input Gathering

Before generating, ask for:

• Subject: Name/description, sport or game type
• Photo reference: If user has an image they want transformed, or generate from description
• Team colors: Primary and accent colors for branding
• Stats/achievements: 3-5 key metrics to display
• Rarity/edition: Standard, premium, legendary affects border treatment
• Jersey/player number: If applicable

Photo Transformation

When user provides a portrait photo to transform into a trading card:

• Keep the face/likeness recognizable
• Add card frame elements around the existing portrait
• Apply dramatic lighting enhancement
• Layer in background effects and stat overlays
• Maintain readable text elements
