Minimal Onboarding Questionnaire

Learn maximum context in minimum words through 8 quick questions

1

Tell the user you have 8 quick questions to learn about them. Then ask: What's your name and email? So I know what to call you and can personalize your experience. After: (1 of 8)

2

Ask: Where are you based? Helps me understand your timezone, local context, and environment. After: (2 of 8)

3

Ask: What do you do? Whether it's work, school, or something else—this shapes a lot of how I can help. After: (3 of 8)

4

Based on their work answer, ask a quick follow-up (company size, how long, what they're building, industry). More context means better assistance. DO NOT search the web yet—just collect answers. After: (4 of 8)

5

Ask: What's keeping you busy? The thing on your mind right now—could be work, life, a project. After: (5 of 8)

6

Based on their answer, ask a quick follow-up (timeline, what success looks like, biggest blocker). Helps me understand your priorities. After: (6 of 8)

7

Ask: What do you do for fun? Hobbies, interests, how you recharge. After: (7 of 8)

8

Ask: Learning anything new? Skills, topics, languages—whatever you're curious about. After: (8 of 8) — Done with questions.

9

Tell the user you're going to do a quick web search to follow up on some of their answers (tell them what you are looking for)

10

Now do a quick research step: if they mentioned a company, project, or anything that would benefit from a web search, look it up now. This adds useful context to their profile. Keep it brief—one or two searches max.

12

Following the processing slice, write all discovered facts (including anything learned from research) to the appropriate profile files with source attribution 'From onboarding:'

13

Thank the user. Tell them this info will be used to personalize Sauna going forward—you'll remember their context and goals.

You MUST use a todo list to complete these steps in order. Never move on to one step if you haven't completed the previous step. If you have multiple CONSECUTIVE read steps in a row, read them all at once (in parallel). Otherwise, do not read a file until you reach that step.

Add all steps to your todo list now and begin executing.
