Slack Wow Moments

See sliceWow Moments Framework for core principles and selection guidance.

Collaboration Signals

Best when: Clear bidirectional interaction in collaborators data

The collaborators array has signals: theyMentionedMe, iRepliedToThem, hasDM, iMentionedThem. When multiple signals are present for the same person, that's a real working relationship.

  • "[X] mentions you AND you reply to their threads — your go-to collaborator"
  • "You have a DM channel with [X] — that's a close working relationship"
  • "[X] and [Y] both engage with you regularly — your inner circle"
  • "You and [X] have strong two-way interaction — real collaboration"

Look for collaborators with high interactionScore and multiple signal types.

Channel Concentration

Best when: One channel clearly dominates in activeChannels

  • "#[channel] is your home base — most of your messages land there"
  • "You spread across [N] channels pretty evenly — you're everywhere"
  • "#[channel] is where you do your real work"

Look at activeChannels[].messageCount to find concentration patterns.

Engagement Signals

Best when: Reactions data or mention patterns show something interesting

  • "Your messages in #[channel] get reactions — people are paying attention"
  • "You mention [X] a lot — they must be important to your work"
  • "[N] people have direct lines to you" (from dmContacts count)
  • "[X] mentions you more than you mention them — you're in demand"

Look at messagesFrom[].reactions and compare mentionsOf with user's mentions.

Slack Personality (optional)

Best when: A clear archetype emerges from the data

  • The Focuser — Concentrated in 1-2 channels, deep engagement
  • The Connector — DMs with many people, relationship builder
  • The Broadcaster — Messages spread wide across channels
  • The Thread Keeper — Heavy thread usage (many is_thread_reply messages)

Slack-Specific Priority

  1. Bidirectional signals first — Someone who both mentions them AND they reply to is the strongest signal
  2. Channel concentration second — If one channel clearly dominates, that's interesting
  3. DM relationships are strong — Having DM channels open is a sign of close collaboration
