Benchmark DEI Programs

Requirements
Company size (employee count) and optionally industry for relevant comparisons
2

Gather context from the user:

  • What's your company size? (employee count)
  • What industry are you in?
  • Current DEI investment/team? (optional, for comparison)
  • Specific questions about DEI programs? (budget, structure, metrics, ERGs)

Check uiHR Context Profile for existing company context.

3

Use skillExa Research to research DEI benchmarks:

Search queries to run:

  1. "DEI budget benchmark [company size] [year]"
  2. "diversity equity inclusion program structure"
  3. "DEI team size headcount [employee count]"
  4. "ERG employee resource group best practices"
  5. "diversity metrics companies track"
  6. "DEI program ROI case study"

Look for:

  • Industry reports (McKinsey, Deloitte, Josh Bersin publish DEI benchmarks)
  • SHRM and HR publications
  • Case studies from companies at similar stage
  • DEI practitioner content and best practices
4

Synthesize findings into the DEI Program Benchmarks format:

  1. Budget benchmarks by company size
  2. Team structure and reporting
  3. Common program components and investments
  4. Metrics tracked and typical targets
  5. Recommendations for their stage

Include sources for all data points.
Note any gaps in available benchmarks—DEI data can be sparse.

5

Offer to save key benchmarks to uiHR Context Profile for future reference.
Ask if they want to dive deeper into any specific aspect (ERGs, training, metrics).
