Research Regulatory Landscape
Requirements
Feature description and target industry. Optional: specific regions to focus on (US, EU, UK).
2
Gather context from the user:
- What feature are you scoping?
- What industry is this for? (fintech, healthcare, etc.)
- Which regions do you need to support? (US, EU, UK, other)
- Any specific regulatory concerns already identified?
Check Product Context Profile for existing product context.
3
Use Exa Research to research regulatory landscape:
For each region, search (use current year in date-sensitive queries):
- "[feature type] regulation [region] [industry] guidance"
- "[industry] compliance requirements [feature]"
- "[regulation name] [feature] implications"
- "[feature] legal requirements [region] [current year]"
- "[industry] regulatory updates [region] [current year]"
Look for:
- Official regulatory guidance documents
- Law firm analyses and summaries
- Industry association guidelines
- Recent enforcement actions
- Compliance checklists from established players
4
Synthesize findings into the Regulatory Landscape format:
- Executive summary of key considerations
- Region-by-region breakdown (regulations, requirements, recent guidance, risk level)
- Comparison table of requirements across regions
- Product design implications
- Items to flag for legal review
Clearly note that this is research, not legal advice.
Include sources for all regulatory claims.
5
Offer to save regulatory research to Research Topics for future reference.
Recommend legal review for any high-risk items identified.
